FLOWERS IN FASHION

As official florist for the 2010 Fashion Awards held at the Glasgow Science Centre, we have been knee deep in swathes of gorgeous blue hydrangea and amazing avalanche roses.

It was a lovely event to work on and included beautiful lush vase arrangements filled with white hydrangea and tuberoses for Swarovski.

We created amazing table centres topped with barbies and Lesley, our very own barbie, helped to create huge saltire inspired dome arrangements which guided you into the Fashion Awards, all made using pom pom sized blue hydrangea and big white avalanche roses.

It was a sorching day which was great, especially for the boys to get stuck in and put their muscles to good use laying the turf lined tartan carpet and also for the girls and John to have a cheeky ice cream break.

After a highly successful day setting up the fashion awards there was only one thing left for the team to do..........
Keep watching for more exciting stuff from the team! xxx

WEDDING BELLS AND LIBERTY AT THE LODGE

We were really excited to be setting up a beautiful wedding
at the Lodge, set on the shores of Loch Goilhead. Its one of
our favorite venues boasting amazing arts and crafts features,
a perfect setting for a romantic wedding. It even has a tree
house overlooking the Loch where the bride and groom were
to exchange vows.

The bride was very relaxed from the word go.Each visit in the
shop to see her designs were really fun. Her flower choice of
seasonal sweety pink peonies, lush hydrangeas with parchment
coloured roses looked stunning set in the large airy conservatory.

The brides table arrangements complimented the cake
and cup cakes supplied by Liggy Cakes perfectly with
touches of hydrangeas and lace details blending the look
together seamlessly, alongside roses and peonies
draped over the crisp white chairs. It made for a magical
dining setting.

Continuing the theme through to the arts and crafts
hall with scattered rose petals, lush hydrangea
heads and candles setting the scene for a seductive
evening event. We love the grounds of the Lodge.
Every nook filled with interesting and gorgeous
touches. We loved these simple potted plants.

Back at the shop we are loving the wild country garden look
with big bright marigolds, lush wild grasses and all sorts of
lush green foliage's to choose from.
Keep watching for new and exciting flowers and events at
Ruby Flowers! xxx

Hello to our loverly customers

I am cock-a-hoop with delight as the shop is over flowing with stunning blooms and heavenly scented hyacinths. There is a magic in the shop at the moment too- great alchemy with all the girls- Allie, Jemma, Cat, Sarah, Lesley and Karen creating gorgeous hand ties and chic posies.

I am also going bonkers over the new products I found when we went to Oslo on a buying trip. Sweet Sarah has done a great job- firstly from being buried in three pallets of boxes, to finally merchandising on the shelves.

Thank you for your custom, as always we couldn't do it without you.

The Countdown to Christmas

Lots of goings on in the shop recently. Firstly, we say goodbye to our lovely Pam who is off to pastures new and planning her wedding to Keenan next year. We wish her well and send her lots of love for their future together.
Christmas has well and truly arrived in the shop. Its all very exciting. Our annual brainstorming night in the shop has conjured up a wonderful Christmas collection, promising something for everyone. Our themes this year are Let It Snow, Winter Wonderland and Berrylicious. Irresistible!

As the mornings are dark now when we arrive in the shop, its such a pleasure to be greeted by our frosty morning tree and its super-sparkly lights. We have been lighting our tealights and divine True Grace candle range, and the shop is enchanting and so lovely to work in and it is most definitely inspiring our hand tied bouquets and arrangements.

In addition to our flowers collections, we have a wealth of christmas baubles and tree decorations guarenteed to bring out the christmas spirit in everyone. Our beautiful giftware range of crystal candle holders, silver vases and scented pomanders have been snapped up by our organised customers who are getting a head start on their christmas shopping, We make it really easy for you, just ask and we will gift wrap them too all ready to be placed under your tree!!

Why not greet your guests with one of our scented and spiced wreaths for your door this year? We have one on our door and its going down a treat and the scent of cinnamon, orange and eucalyptus is really capturing the senses.

Our Very Berrylicious bouquets are good enough to eat. Perfect for Christmas giving!

As you can never have too much glitter and sparkle at this time of year, come in and see our gorgeous range of tealight holders. Pop them in dark corners to create a glow of light. Just right for the dark nights ahead.
We look forward to welcoming you this week, and soon the shop will be open on Sundays throughout the month of December to give you an extra helping hand for your christmas shopping.

Fiery Autumn Blooms

This week in Ruby Flowers we are celebrating the engagement of Pamela to Keenan. We have been kept up to date via email and the whole shop is very excited about the news (and we love the photo!). Another cause for excitement is the changing seasons. We are looking forward to the long autumn skies and digging out our thermal socks for those frosty mornings! The shop is brimming with deep reds and yellows which look stunning against a backdrop of Sedum. Along with our extensive flower selection we have Brassica and Solanum plants (perfect for a wee seasonal gift). Brighten up those dark nights with some flaming Tom Pearce Chrysanthemum, hot hot Chilli Peppers and huge Hypericum berries.......YES, berries are back!

We had an exciting weekend putting together stunning ties of deep purple Hydrangea, beautiful clusters of velvety, red roses and stunning, lime green Cymbidum Orchid. These were for Mar Hall's stand at The Wedding Show at the SECC. There were two large goldfish bowls that looked fantastic against the theatrical nature of Mar Hall's stand.

Make sure that you check out our flower photoshoot by renowned photographer Scott Douglas, we hope to get some made into our own unique little gift cards. Watch this space!
