The Countdown to Christmas

Lots of goings on in the shop recently. Firstly, we say goodbye to our lovely Pam who is off to pastures new and planning her wedding to Keenan next year. We wish her well and send her lots of love for their future together.
Christmas has well and truly arrived in the shop. Its all very exciting. Our annual brainstorming night in the shop has conjured up a wonderful Christmas collection, promising something for everyone. Our themes this year are Let It Snow, Winter Wonderland and Berrylicious. Irresistible!

As the mornings are dark now when we arrive in the shop, its such a pleasure to be greeted by our frosty morning tree and its super-sparkly lights. We have been lighting our tealights and divine True Grace candle range, and the shop is enchanting and so lovely to work in and it is most definitely inspiring our hand tied bouquets and arrangements.

In addition to our flowers collections, we have a wealth of christmas baubles and tree decorations guarenteed to bring out the christmas spirit in everyone. Our beautiful giftware range of crystal candle holders, silver vases and scented pomanders have been snapped up by our organised customers who are getting a head start on their christmas shopping, We make it really easy for you, just ask and we will gift wrap them too all ready to be placed under your tree!!

Why not greet your guests with one of our scented and spiced wreaths for your door this year? We have one on our door and its going down a treat and the scent of cinnamon, orange and eucalyptus is really capturing the senses.

Our Very Berrylicious bouquets are good enough to eat. Perfect for Christmas giving!

As you can never have too much glitter and sparkle at this time of year, come in and see our gorgeous range of tealight holders. Pop them in dark corners to create a glow of light. Just right for the dark nights ahead.
We look forward to welcoming you this week, and soon the shop will be open on Sundays throughout the month of December to give you an extra helping hand for your christmas shopping.

Fiery Autumn Blooms

This week in Ruby Flowers we are celebrating the engagement of Pamela to Keenan. We have been kept up to date via email and the whole shop is very excited about the news (and we love the photo!). Another cause for excitement is the changing seasons. We are looking forward to the long autumn skies and digging out our thermal socks for those frosty mornings! The shop is brimming with deep reds and yellows which look stunning against a backdrop of Sedum. Along with our extensive flower selection we have Brassica and Solanum plants (perfect for a wee seasonal gift). Brighten up those dark nights with some flaming Tom Pearce Chrysanthemum, hot hot Chilli Peppers and huge Hypericum berries.......YES, berries are back!

We had an exciting weekend putting together stunning ties of deep purple Hydrangea, beautiful clusters of velvety, red roses and stunning, lime green Cymbidum Orchid. These were for Mar Hall's stand at The Wedding Show at the SECC. There were two large goldfish bowls that looked fantastic against the theatrical nature of Mar Hall's stand.

Make sure that you check out our flower photoshoot by renowned photographer Scott Douglas, we hope to get some made into our own unique little gift cards. Watch this space!

World's Biggest Coffee Morning 25th September!

I've been so excited the past couple of weeks, working with the girls and dreaming up gorgeous ideas for our latest window design. We were approached by Macmillan Cancer Support to take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning. We went with their coffee morning theme and we have scrumptious, over-sized flower cakes and espresso cups, Macmillan coffee jars - tied in their trademark green ribbon... and fabulous lacey bunting! We are also selling flower cup cakes from £3.50, with the proceeds going straight to them too! The theme is going to be in place for the whole month of September. Come and see us for inspiration for your own coffee mornings.

proposals, bespoke design, coffee and cake...

Hello!
Well it's wednesday... and for us that means designing flowers for Mar Hall, our favourite hotel! This week we are are installing beautiful vases filled with Phalenopsis and Lady Jane orchids. *swoon* Carrie (not that one) is getting married there in just a couple of weeks and popped into our shop yesterday to finalise her flower choices. The ceremony will be held in the Burgandy Suite, where we'll be making gorgeous posies for the end of every pew with Grand Prix, Passion and Guelda roses. We are designing flowers for the marquee... and of course the beautiful bridal party. Keep checking back for photos and more delightful details! I can't wait to post them.

I want to introduce you to our friends at The Bench Furniture Company.
Tracey, has fantastic taste! She has developed a range of luxury furniture created by expert craftsmen and upholsterers. Each item is made from a selection of rich velvet or high quality linen in a range of colours, chosen to suit your needs and match your existing decor.

Another thing I love about Wednesdays... is Orange. Going to the cinema has to be the perfect way to spend a rainy night in Glasgow! 2-4-1 makes me happy :)

If you haven't yet, go and see The Proposal.... even if you're not a 'chick flick' kind of girl, it is worth it for the stunning flowers (and the louboutins!).

If you are a 'chick flick' kind of girl, then get ready to swoon.... We've had lots of romantic men splashing out on their ladies this week! 3 hand-ties sent throughout the day to someone very special, a beautiful hand-tie to be sent fortnightly for a WHOLE year to a very lucky wife.
Next week, we'll be posting some exciting ideas for Macmillan Cancer Support's biggest coffee morning!
