Fiery Autumn Blooms

This week in Ruby Flowers we are celebrating the engagement of Pamela to Keenan. We have been kept up to date via email and the whole shop is very excited about the news (and we love the photo!). Another cause for excitement is the changing seasons. We are looking forward to the long autumn skies and digging out our thermal socks for those frosty mornings! The shop is brimming with deep reds and yellows which look stunning against a backdrop of Sedum. Along with our extensive flower selection we have Brassica and Solanum plants (perfect for a wee seasonal gift). Brighten up those dark nights with some flaming Tom Pearce Chrysanthemum, hot hot Chilli Peppers and huge Hypericum berries.......YES, berries are back!

We had an exciting weekend putting together stunning ties of deep purple Hydrangea, beautiful clusters of velvety, red roses and stunning, lime green Cymbidum Orchid. These were for Mar Hall's stand at The Wedding Show at the SECC. There were two large goldfish bowls that looked fantastic against the theatrical nature of Mar Hall's stand.

Make sure that you check out our flower photoshoot by renowned photographer Scott Douglas, we hope to get some made into our own unique little gift cards. Watch this space!

World's Biggest Coffee Morning 25th September!

I've been so excited the past couple of weeks, working with the girls and dreaming up gorgeous ideas for our latest window design. We were approached by Macmillan Cancer Support to take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning. We went with their coffee morning theme and we have scrumptious, over-sized flower cakes and espresso cups, Macmillan coffee jars - tied in their trademark green ribbon... and fabulous lacey bunting! We are also selling flower cup cakes from £3.50, with the proceeds going straight to them too! The theme is going to be in place for the whole month of September. Come and see us for inspiration for your own coffee mornings.
